HLM MEANINGFUL LIFE DEVOTIONAL Day 5: *Faith in Action through Divine Revelation* Like Jacob, we are encouraged to envision and act on our faith, trusting that God will bring to pass what seems impossible. Divine revelation allows us to see beyond the physical and trust in God's ability to call things that are not as though they were. By acting on our faith, we align ourselves with God's plans and purposes, experiencing His divine performance in our lives. This requires us to trust in God's promises and take steps of faith, even when the outcome is uncertain.  Genesis 28:12-15 (ESV):  *"And he dreamed, and behold, there was a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven. And behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it! And behold, the Lord stood above it and said, 'I am the Lord, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac. The land on which you lie I will give to you and to your offspring... Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land. HLM MEANINGFUL LIFE DEVOTIONAL Day 4: *Divine Revelation Leading to Salvation* The story of the Ethiopian eunuch highlights how divine revelation leads to salvation and transformation. When Philip explained the scriptures to him, the eunuch gained clarity and understanding, resulting in his baptism and newfound faith. This story reminds us that understanding God's word is crucial for experiencing salvation and living a life of purpose and fulfillment. By seeking divine revelation, we open ourselves to the transformative power of God's word. Acts 8:30-31, 35-38 (ESV): * "So Philip ran to him and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet and asked, 'Do you understand what you are reading?' And he said, 'How can I, unless someone guides me?'... Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this Scripture he told him the good news about Jesus. And as they were going along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, 'See, here is water! What prevents me from being baptized?'... His obedience was rooted in a deep understanding of God's nature and promises. By responding to God's call to leave his father's house without knowing his destination, Abraham demonstrated unwavering faith. This teaches us that divine revelation empowers us to see beyond the physical and trust in God's ability to call things that are not as though they were.  Hebrews 11:8-10 (ESV):  *"By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. Through Jesus, we receive the fullness of God's revelation, which empowers us to live a life of faith and purpose. This revelation is not just about acquiring knowledge but about developing a personal relationship with God. By understanding Jesus, we gain insight into the Trinity and God's purpose for our lives, allowing us to experience divine settlement in every area of our lives.  Hebrews 1:1-3 (ESV):  *"Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. As believers we are called to use our gifts and resources to build up the church and advance God's kingdom. This involves a daily commitment to think about and support one another, striving to be a blessing to others. By avoiding the trap of criticism and complacency, as believers we can fulfill the purpose of God in our lives and in the church. Active participation is about being intentional in one's involvement and seeking ways to serve and uplift the community.  Romans 12:4-8 (ESV):  *"For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness."* *Reflection:* Reflect on your current level of participation in your church. By recognizing our role within the body of Christ, as believers we are encouraged to use our gifts and talents to serve God's purpose and advance His kingdom. 1 Corinthians 12:12-14 (ESV):  *"For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.
